PURPOSE: A model animation producing method and apparatus using a motion control mechanism is provided to generate motion data using a virtual robot constructed on a 3-dimensional virtual reality screen and transmit the motion data to a robot inserted into a character of model animation through a control program, to thereby provide an automated animation producing technique. CONSTITUTION: Virtual robot fundamental information including the length of each of parts of the body of a virtual robot and fundamental values of joints of the virtual robot is received. The virtual robot is generated based on the received values. Information about motions of the respective parts of the body of the virtual robot is received and the virtual robot is operated based on the motion information to simulate. When a user inputs a command of outputting information about the operation of the virtual robot, operation information composed of at least one standstill operation and a time interval between standstill operations is generated and output.
