PURPOSE: A method and a device for controlling heat of an image forming apparatus are provided to prevent unnecessary consumption of power and heat for warm-up by rapidly supplying heat to the image forming apparatus and to rapidly emit remaining heat of a heat-generating unit by driving a motor even after printing. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a heat-generating unit for generating heat required for a fixing device, a fan for emitting accumulated heat, and a motor for dispersing the heat. The fan is not operated in the initial state(50). In a normal state, the fan is driven with driving capability in response to the temperature of the heat-generating unit. The motor is driven until the temperature of the image forming apparatus reaches a stand-by mode reference temperature after an image is formed by the image forming apparatus(52).
