A hand mixer intended for mixing and processing more or less liquid food in a vessel, wherein the mixer includes a staff-like part (11) which has at one end a tool holder (1) which is adapted to carry different tools, such as a cutting tool, a chopping tool (2) or a whisk (3), intended for insertion down into the vessel, and wherein the mixer further includes an electric motor (4) for driving a tool carried by said tool holder. The invention is characterised in that the motor of the drive arrangement is a high speed motor (4) that has a maximum speed of at least 20 000 rpm and that is part of a unit which includes a gear arrangement (12) with which said maximum speed can be reduced to a speed appropriate with regard to the tool used. |
