ROOF MOLDING OF VEHICLE FOR OPENING AND CLOSING OPENING PART OF ROOF MOLDING BY SLIDE PLATE AND REDUCING SIZE OF OPENING PART

PURPOSE: A roof molding for a vehicle is provided to reduce the number of parts, to cut down the manufacturing cost, to decrease the size of the opening part, and to increase the rigidity around the opening part by inserting and moving a slide plate between the upper wall and the rack part and directly mounting the slide plate around the opening part of the molding body. CONSTITUTION: A molding body(10) is composed of rack parts(14a,14b) faced to each other and spaced from a rear surface(11b) of an upper wall(11), and a slide plate(20) is placed opposite to an opening part(12) of the rack parts. The slide plate is moved and slid longitudinally to the molding body to open and close the opening part of the rack parts. The slide plate is composed of an elastic part(25) protruded for the rack parts to bias the slide plate for the upper wall of the molding body by receiving reaction force from the rack parts. The opening part is opened and closed by sliding the slide plate.
