<p>A steel excellent in machinability, characterized in that it comprises, in mass %, 0.001 to 1.5 % of C, 3 % or less of Si, 0.01 to 3 % of Mn:, 0.001 to 0.2 % of P, 0.0001 to 1.2 % of S, 0.001 to 0.5 % of Zn, 0.0001 to 0.02 % of N, and 0.0005 to 0.05 % of O. Optionally, the steel may further comprise 0.002 to 0.5 % of Sn and/or 0.0005 to 0.05 % of B, which elements are both a machinability imparting element.</p> |
