PURPOSE: A soot removing system of a coal combustion boiler and a method thereof are provided to prevent lowering of thermal efficiency by detecting the pollution level of the boiler and automatically removing soot with the soot removing steam injection unit according to the pollution level. CONSTITUTION: A soot removing system of a coal combustion boiler comprises a sensor(26) detecting the state of each group in the boiler, a control unit(24) controlling soot removal by receiving the control signal, plural soot removing units(25) installed in each group of the boiler to remove soot by injecting steam by the control unit, a main processor unit(21) measuring the pollution level of soot based on the state of the group and outputting the control signal for removing soot in case of the pollution level to be over the reference value, a data base unit(22) storing and administrating data in driving the main processor unit, and a distribution control unit(23) controlling distribution by transmitting information from the sensor to the main processor unit and the control signal from the main processor unit to the control unit.
