PURPOSE: A device for controlling a moving target by using a microcontroller and a method thereof are provided to improve shooting efficiency, and to extend the life span of the motor by operating the moving target corresponding to the external stimulus in shooting. CONSTITUTION: A moving target control device by using a microcontroller is composed of a control signal receiving unit(10) receiving the control signal for controlling operation of the moving target, an external stimulus receiving unit(20) receiving external stimulus in shooting, a self-checking unit(30) performing the self-test by applying the moving target driving signal without external signals, a control unit(40) controlling operation of the moving target according to the received signals, and a driving unit(50) actuating the moving target corresponding to the motor driving control signal.
