PURPOSE: An apparatus for reducing ground effects in a folder-type communication handset device is provided to reduce an electromagnetic wave exposed to users. CONSTITUTION: A communication device for transmitting and receiving communication signals includes first and second enclosures(62,64). The first and second enclosures are coupled by a pivotable joint joining each other. The first and second enclosures include respective first and second surfaces(62A,64A). The communication device is in a closed state when the first and second surfaces are disposed in a facing relation while in an open state when the first and second surfaces are in a spaced apart relation. The communication device includes a radio frequency signal radiating element(10), a first substrate, first and second conductive elements(65) in the first enclosure. The communication device includes a second ground plane. At least one of a first feed terminal and a first ground terminal is positioned on the radiating element to minimize coupling between the radiating element and the second ground plane, when the communication device is in the open state.
