The device comprises, for corking, a ring adapted to surround the cork's shoulder and a threaded rod (3) for exerting a lateral pressure on the shoulder. For uncorking there is a plate (4) with an elastomer pad (5) for receiving the opening of the bottle neck (6) and two stops (4A,4B) which are positioned under the upper flange of the neck so as to hold the pad pressed against the opening.
