PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing mugwort essence by distillation with water vapor, by which various active components contained in mugwort can be separated at the same time with no degeneration. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing mugwort essence by distillation with water vapor comprises the steps of: carrying out distillation of mugwort with water vapor at 105 deg.C under 1 atm for 30 minutes-4 hours; and further carrying out distillation of the preliminarily distilled mugwort with water vapor at 140 deg.C under 2 atm for 30 minutes-4 hours to obtain essence having a mugwort flavor. |
