PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element capable of preventing the element from damage caused by the irradiation of an ultraviolet ray during a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises insulation films 12 formed on a substrate 1 and transistors 100, 200, a metal protection film 10 formed on the insulation film 12 at a non-light emitting area, a first electrode 11 formed on the insulation film 12 at a light emitting area 3, a light emitting layer formed on the first electrode , and a second electrode formed on the light emitting layer.
