The flap valve arrangement for a length variable air induction passage system has flap assembly (10) with a flap body (6) mounted on a shaft (9) which is rotated by an operating device. A spring (16) loads the flap assembly with a force acting in the opening direction, and is in the form of a torsion spring installed around the shaft. The torsion spring is installed outside the flow passages of an air induction passage system housing and by a first end (17) lies against a protrusion (19) on one wall of the housing. The other end of the spring bears against a lever (20) fitted on the shaft.
