PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal dropping apparatus which drops liquid crystal directly on a large-area glass substrate including at least one liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal dropping apparatus comprises a container 122 which is filled with liquid crystal, a cylinder 142, a piston 145 which is inserted into the cylinder 142 to form a groove 145a in a given lower area, and rotates and moves up and down to suck and discharge the liquid crystal, a suction inlet 147 and a discharge outlet 148 through which the liquid crystal is sucked and discharged by the movement of the piston 145, and a case 141 which houses the cylinder 142 and piston 145 and has a transparent window 141c at its lower part, and includes a discharge pump 140 which sucks and discharges the liquid crystal charged in the container 122, and a nozzle 150 which drops the liquid crystal discharged from the discharge pump 140 on the substrate.
