PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vibration or shake of optical equipment and to prevent sudden slide when fixing is loosened. SOLUTION: A universal head has a camera mounting part 10 on which a camera C is mounted and a fastening screw 24 for fixing the bottom surface of the camera C to the camera mounting part 10, the camera mounting part 10 is provided with a hard rigid part 14 and a soft friction part 12 and both of the rigid part 14 and the friction part 12 are brought into contact with the bottom surface of the camera when the camera C is mounted.
