<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet type recording device which can fully infiltrate ink that comes out to the outside from an edge of a recording medium into a platen, and to provide an ink-jet type recording method. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of carrying out frameless printing to a recording paper 13 by moving a recording head 11 along a guide shaft 12 and discharging the ink 14 from the recording head 11, the ink-jet type recording device 10 is configured to infiltrate the ink 14 that comes out to the outside of the recording paper 13 into the platen 15.
