<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer capable of making a liquid crystal display device with a backlight lower in profle, and realizing the liquid crystal display excellent in productivity by being made simple in configuration and high in function by reducing the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: This polarizer is interposed between a liquid crystal layer and the backlight in the liquid crystal display panel of a liquid crystal display device.
