PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correcting tool for linearly correcting a sealing metal body used for a discharge tube, a sealing metal body corrected by the tool and a discharge tube using the metal body. SOLUTION: A correcting tool 1 for linearly correcting a sealing metal body 6 sealed at both ends of a glass bulb has first and second correcting tools 2, 3 with engaging grooves 4, 5 to laterally fix the metal body 6, respectively. The metal body 6 is engaged with one of the engaging grooves of either of the first tool 2 or the second tool 3 to fix it, and the metal body 6 is linearly corrected by pressing the metal body 6 by the other tool 2 or 3.
