A system management method correlates a processing object and a processing to each node in the tree structure and operates each node according to the tree structure, thereby managing the processing object and the processing. A user who performs operation is registered in a general node corresponding to the processing object or a function node corresponding to the processing. The function node is set as a child node of the general node corresponding to the processing object to execute the processing corresponding to the function node while the general node is set as a parent node of the function node. A registered user operation authority is set for each of the registered users. When the registered user requests execution of the processing corresponding to the function node, the function node is caused to execute the processing only if the processing is permitted by the registered user operation authority of the registered user who has requested the processing set in the general node as a parent node of the function node.
