<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally reduce power consumption without employing an additional component which incurs cost increase and hindrance to downsizing and weight reduction of a terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 13 sets a normal mode or a power-saving mode in response to the ON or OFF state of a power switch. In the power-saving mode, the control section 13 carries out a function of applying position registration to a base station and a function of receiving mails from a base station and storing the mail to a subscriber information storage section 14 after the lapse of a prescribed time.
