PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase an unnecessary area of a memory caused in accordance with deletion of an e-mail without impairing the operability in the case of using the memory as an e-mail storage medium. SOLUTION: A voice call function is realized by a normal mode operation means 301 and an e-mail function is realized by an e-mail mode operation means 302. At this time, the received e-mail is displayed on a display means 305 and simultaneously recorded in a free space of a storage means 303. When no free space exists in the storage means 303, an e-mail data erasure means 304 secures a recording space of the received e-mail by erasing the e-mail deleted by the e-mail mode operation means 302 from the storage means 303 when an operation is performed by a normal mode other than an e-mail function. A cellular phone without impairing the operability is realized by performing erasure of the unnecessary area of the storage means 303 by utilizing spare time unique to the cellular phone 300.
