PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile communication system, a communication terminal, a transmission control method, a program and a recording medium which fully enhances reliability of transfer in image information by dynamically and optimally determining primary packet size and the number of redundant packets to be added according to the other device and a kind of communication by a redundant packet system for restoring packet loss in the case of transferring the image information in a UDP mode in ITU-T recommendation T.38. SOLUTION: Generation of a fault is suppressed, communication is surely performed, the reliability of transmission to data transfer is sharply enhanced and transfer rate of the image information is utilized at a maximum since the primary packet size of the packets to be transmitted and the number of redundant packets to be added are set not by fixed values but based on the maximum communication buffer size notified from the other device and the data transfer is performed by the primary packet size and the number of redundant packets to be added which are allowable by a network at the time.
