PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent three kinds of images, a landscape image placed with long sideways, a landscape image placed with long vertical length, and a portraight image placed with long vertical length from being different in the top to bottom direction by 180°or more. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus for displaying/printing an image is provided with an image selecting means for selecting a plurality of images, and an image rotation direction designating means for designating the rotational direction of the landscape image. The apparatus is provided with an image rotating means which does not rotate the image when printing while matching the long side direction with the short side direction of a printing paper if H≥W, where the number of vertical pixels of an image selected by the image selecting means is H and the number of pixels of horizontal pixels, and rotating the image data file by 90°in a direction opposite to the direction designated by the image rotation direction designating means, when printing while matching the long side direction with the short side direction, and performs a reverse operation when H≤W.
