<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably outputting a high-quality toner image while maintaining productivity without being influenced by the characteristic (whether it is a high-density image or a low-density image or the like) of the outputted image. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has an image forming means including a developing means and forming the toner image on a carrier, a density measuring means measuring the density of the toner image, a density control means performing density control operation that toner amount supplied to the developing means is controlled so that the density of a patch may meet a specified target value in specified timing by allowing the image forming means to form the patch as the toner image for measuring density and allowing the density measuring means to measure the density of the patch, and a target correction means correcting the target value based on image forming operation other than the density control operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
