PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immobilizing carrier, capable of immobilizing an enzyme and electron-acceptor compound on an electrode system, suitable for realizing a highly efficient functional electrode by building the catalytic function of the enzyme into the electrode system, and the electrode by using the same.

SOLUTION: This immobilizing carrier containing glutaraldehyde, a poly-L-lysine and the electron-acceptor compound is used for immobilizing the enzyme and the electron-acceptor compound on the electrode at the same time. For example, a diaphorase as the enzyme, and 2-amino-3-carboxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (ACNQ) as the electron-acceptor compound are used.
