PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag and an airbag device which can further reduce impact applied to an obstacle which exists in the middle of the expansion development. SOLUTION: A variable vent hole 36 is provided at an initial development position of a side surface panel 34 of this airbag 22. At the same time, a tucked section 37 comprising a folded pleat 44 is formed in a vicinity of the center of the side surface panel 34. A slide cloth 32 having a closing section 40 and a notch section 42 is fixed on the internal side of the side surface panel 34 in such a manner that a closing section side end 40a and a leg section side end 41a may pinch the variable vent hole 36 and the tucked section 37. In this case, the closing section 40 is folded into a bellows shape under the initial state, and the notch section 42 is made to face the variable vent hole 36. When the bag body has normally been developed, the folding of the closing section 40 is released by the separation of the tucked section 37, and the closing section 40 is made to confront with the variable vent hole 36.
