The device enables the use of a two-dimensional template with cut- outs in the form of numbers, letters or optional symbols with which text or markings can be produced. The template is guided by a guiding aid on a base carrier (1) or other part used as a base carrier, whereby the guiding aid and the template are constrained to linear movement by guide rails (2) or edges or slots used as guide rails.
