PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of realizing the display of a test pattern by invisible light on a screen even in course of regular projection while preventing the lowering of the brightness of visible light so as to realize the measurement of the tilt angles of the screen to the optical axis of the projector in vertical and horizontal directions and automatic focusing. SOLUTION: A light beam 101 projected from a light source 23 is separated to a visible light beam 102 and an infrared ray 103 by a prism 241 provided with an infrared reflection film 242 on one surface, and the light beam 102 is projected to a DMD display part 22 as it is, and the separated infrared ray 103 is made to pass through an optical insulator 243 with a slit, so that it becomes a slit-shaped infrared test pattern 83. The direction of the test pattern 83 is refracted toward a projection lens 21 by a total reflection mirror 244, and the test pattern 83 is projected to a projection surface 70 via the projection lens 21 at the same distance with the light beam 102 reflected by the display part 22, and imaged by the digital camera 50 so as to perform focusing and the measurement of the tilt angle.
