The invention relates to a cutting insert which can be used to clamp into a disk-shaped or strip-shaped tool body (30, 36). Said cutting insert comprise s a front surface (10, 22) to which a convex front surface (11) is joined to a t least one side. The arc-shaped edges (12) of the front surface extend at an angular dimension of > 90~ and = 180~ and are embodied as cutting edges ( 12). According to the invention, either a linear edge which is essentially vertic al in relation to the front surface or cutting edge (14) which runs counter to the vertical by a maximum 4~ or a concave-shaped edge (24) are joined to the arc-shaped edge(s). |
