<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a reflection type liquid crystal display that it is difficult to accurately dispose the display area of a reflection type liquid crystal panel and the aperture part of a light shielding plate corresponding to the display area, and that the light shielding plate cannot cover the entire surface of a non-display area or covers part of the display area. <P>SOLUTION: The reflection type liquid crystal display has a casing for positioning and fixing at least a light guide member, a diffusion member, a polarizing plate and a transflective sheet. The casing is positioned and fixed by a base which is mounted on the upper surface of a circuit board on the upper part of the reflection type liquid crystal panel which is mounted on the upper surface of the the circuit board by turning the display surface upward. A light shielding member having the aperture part corresponding to the image display area of the reflection type liquid crystal panel is provided between the reflection type liquid crystal panel and the casing.
