PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of selectively recording the picked-up images of present equipment and the picked-up images of other equipment. SOLUTION: The picked-up images by another digital video camera are received by a radio communication module 120 together with the picked-up images by a camera block 10 and the images are selected and recorded on the magnetic tape of a video cassette 111. Also, the picked-up images of the present equipment are radio-transmitted from the radio communication module 120 to the other digital video camera. By processing of a control part 60, a composite image for which the picked-up image of the present equipment and the received image from the other equipment are composited and simultaneously displayed is displayed at an LCD 80 and the data of the image selected by using a touch panel 90 are recorded on the magnetic tape. Thus, in the case that the plurality of digital video cameras of similar constitution are present, by mutually transmitting and receiving the images by radio communication, the picked-up images of the respective devices are effectively utilized and the contents of the images to be recorded are enriched.
