PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil unit in which intended inductance characteristics can be obtained while simplifying the assembling process as compared with prior art in the coil unit having magnetic gap parts between a plurality of core segments. SOLUTION: The coil unit is provided with a tubular bobbin 8, a coil 7 applied to the outer circumferential surface of the bobbin 8, and an annular core 1 penetrating the inner space of the bobbin 8, and the core 1 consists of a pair of C-shaped core segments 2 and 2, and at least one rectangular parallelepiped core segment 3 interposed between the C-shaped core segments 2 and 2. The inner space of the bobbin 8 includes a central space for containing the parallelepiped core segment 3, and two side spaces formed on the opposite sides of the central space in order to contain the end parts of the pair of C-shaped core segments 2 and 2. Ribs 85 and 86 of a specified thickness are projected between the central space and each side space and an opening 87 for inserting the parallelepiped core segment 3 into the central space is formed in the sidewall of the bobbin 8.
