PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe roof, an excavating device and a pipe roof method improving workability by smoothly jacking joint parts into the ground, not to mention steel pipes constituting the pipe roof. SOLUTION: In the pipe roof used in a pipe roof method of arranging the steel pipes in a row and inserting them into the natural ground, two parallel steel pipes 2 are integrally connected to each other on the facing face side with an H-shape steel 4 as a tie member, and other peripheral surfaces of the steel pipes 2 are provided with male joints 7 and female joints 8 formed of H-steel whose flange edges are connected. The male joint 7 and the female joint 8 are connected to line up the steel pipes 2. The tip of the H-shape steel 4 used as the tie member, and the tip of the H-steel used as the male joint 7 and the female joint 8 of the pipe roof positioned at the foremost, out of a plurality of pipe roofs continuously inserted in the ground, are formed into tapered parts and used as cutting edges.
