The adapter card (5) is connected to a data bus (2) in a data processor (1) and has an interface (7) for connection to a memory module (3) of the data processor, a memory device (10) of the adapter card holding test mode data, with a switching device (8) allowing the data bus or the memory device to be coupled to the interface under control of a control circuit (9) with a trigger input (11). An independent claim for operation of a data processor memory module in different test modes is also included.
