PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for facilitating profiling of an application. SOLUTION: The system and the method for facilitating profiling of an application comprises intercepting application instructions; determining whether or not an application instruction is a frequently used instruction according to a pre-established policy; and only if the application instruction is a frequently used instruction, instrumenting the application instruction so as to facilitate collection of information about performance of the application instruction.
