METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RESISTANCE WELDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of a gas pressure sealed in a work 100.

SOLUTION: This apparatus for resistance welding includes a movable electrode 48 movable in a vertical direction in a chamber 44. The apparatus further includes the work 100 placed and positioned on a fixed electrode 40 in the chamber 44. A load cell 62 detects that the movable electrode 48 is brought into contact with the work 100. A controller 66 controls to open a directional control valve 34 under the condition that the load cell 62 detects the contact of the movable electrode 48 with the work 100, and to supply a gas from a helium gas supply unit 16 into the chamber 44.
