PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method that can secure communication in a radio communication device without an external input device. SOLUTION: Radio communication devices 1 and 12 execute authentication processing using a password prior to desired data communication to prevent unauthorized access to each radio communication device. The radio communication device 1 transmits the password used in the authentication processing, and the radio communication device 12 verifies the received password. The password decisive of communication availability is generated in the communication devices from measured times measured by time measurement parts 5 and 16 upon given trigger operations. The trigger operations on the devices are simultaneously executed by a user to synchronize the measured times so that the two radio communication devices can generate the same password.
