PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit excellent sealing performance with no possibility of both ends of an elastic seal member entirely falling out or being sheared. SOLUTION: This expansive flexible joint is provided with fittings B, C; a pair of cylindrical bodies E fixed to the fittings almost coaxially with a prescribed space; the cylindrical elastic seal member F with both end openings 2 fitted inside straddling butt ends 3 of both cylindrical bodies; cylindrical pressing members 4 with smooth outer peripheral surfaces pressing the inner peripheral surfaces 2b of both end openings of the seal member; clamping members G for clamp-fixing the respective pressing members to the cylindrical bodies; and annular stopper members 5 protrusively provided at butt end faces 3b of the respective cylindrical bodies and extending in a direction (b) orthogonal to a direction (a) extending along center axes of the respective cylindrical bodies. Inner end faces 2c at both end openings of the elastic seal member pressed by the pressing members are brought into pressure contact with outer end faces 5a of the stopper members.
