PRODUCTION AND STORAGE OF HYDROGEN

A method and apparatus for producing and storing hydrogen in an electrolytic cell is disclosed. The method includes decomposing water in an aqueous electrolyte in the cell and producing hydrogen and thereafter contacting hydrogen with a material that can form metal hydrides by absorption of hydrogen and can readily desorb hydrogen and absorbing hydrogen into the material.
