PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hair dryer from sucking hair, dust, even odor and saprophytes thereinto. SOLUTION: The hair dryer 1 is provided with: an air suction port 7 arranged at one end of a cylindrical dryer body 3; a hot air blowing port 11 arranged at the other end of the dryer body 3; and a blowing means and a heater which are arranged in an air flow passage inside the dryer body 3. A filter 37 passing outer air is arranged in the air suction port 7, so that hair is prevented from being sucked. The filter 37 is freely attachable/detachable by a filter holding member 39 and easily exchanged. The filter 37 is a photocatalytic filter with the mixture of hydroxy apatite and a photocatalyst impregnated therein. Thus, the floating bacteria, organic gas and odorous elements are strongly sucked, so as to decompose the suction substance by the photocatalyst for harmlessness.
