PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a conventional apparatus has a storage frame body for an escape chute in a lower part of a drop port of a building external wall and a considerable labor and time are required for climbing over the building external wall and dropping it or that, if the escape chute is a double, cylindrical and large-sized one, it is quite difficult to instantaneously suspend the escape chute integrated with a suspension frame in a single operation in an emergency. SOLUTION: This vertical escape chute apparatus is so formed that an entrance frame 12 and the suspension frame 10 are foldably, overhangingly and rotatingly connected to the inside of a fixed storage frame body 20 of an escape gate 31 of the building 30 from a front side overhanging from the building external wall 32 and suspending the escape chute 1; after folding the suspension frame 10 in the side of the entrance frame 12, the entrance frame 12 is folded and stored in the fixed storage frame body 20 so that the suspension frame 10 is positioned in the rear side; the escape chute 1 is folded and mounted thereon; and the entrance frame 12 and the suspension frame 10 are rotated and outward overhung in the single operation following the throwing of the escape chute on evacuation.
