PURPOSE: A structure of a tub and a manufacturing method thereof for a drum-type washing machine are provided to reduce the number of parts and to improve work efficiency at an assembly line by joining a bearing housing to a tub without a bracket. CONSTITUTION: A tub(2) of a drum-type washing machine comprises a hollow cylinder-shaped tub center(2a) and a tub back(2b) composed of a disc-shaped base surface(200b) and an outer wall surface(210b) formed vertically around the base surface and combined with the tub center to close a rear side. The tub back is inserted from the rear side of the tub center to overlap the outer wall surface of the tub back with the tub center toward the rear side of the tub and then an overlapped part of the tub center and the tub back are joined by seaming welding. The end of outer wall surface of the tub back covers the end of the tub center by curling the end of the tub back. |
