PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling an output of a mobile terminal are provided to reduce the number of components to be used for controlling output power suitably according to standards and effectively design a mobile terminal by allowing a spatial room for a circuit board. CONSTITUTION: The first detection circuit unit(107) detects a potential of a power output terminal of a battery unit(101). The second detection circuit unit(109) detects a potential of a battery power input terminal of a power amplifier(103). An output power controller(111) adjusts output power to satisfy a limited range of maximum output power, stores the first potential difference information between the two terminals, and adjusts a current strength of output power according to a comparison result between the current second potential difference information between the two terminals and the first potential difference information.
