PURPOSE: A variable capacity rotary compressor is provided to vary capacity of a rotary compressor even if the rotary frequency of the compressor is not limited. CONSTITUTION: A housing(320) has a cylindrical compression chamber(310) inside. A rotary shaft(210) has an eccentricity part(350) rotating inside the compressor chamber. A roller(360) is rotatively installed on an outer surface of the eccentricity part in a state that the outer surface contacts with an inner surface of the compressor chamber. A vane is installed in the housing to advance and retreat in a radius direction of the compressor chamber in a state that the front end contacts with an outer surface of the roller when the roller rotates. The vane is formed of a first vane(610) and a second vane(620) dividable in a direction vertical to an axial direction. A restriction element(700) restricts the first vane to separate a front end of the first vane from the outer surface of the roller.
