The apparatus has a plate (1) with two parallel oval cavities (2) to permit a passage of two half-loops of a belayer rope. The belayer rope is caught by a carabiner utilizing a funnel shaped brake (3) and a triangular bump (4) that is at a lower height and oriented towards the brake. The brake and the bump are located in a plane higher than the plate. Two hooks (5) of the plate block the rope from sliding.
