PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device that can precisely position a second block 2 against a first block 1 which is constituted free to smoothly carry out taper engagement and disengagement. SOLUTION: A positioning hole 23 is opened on the second block 2, and a plug part 27 is projected from the first block 1 so as to be inserted into this positioning hole 23. An intermediate member 30 free to extend and contract in the diametrical direction is supported on the plug part 27 and made free to move along the axial direction of the plug part 27. A taper surface 33 capable of taper engagement against the positioning hole 23 is formed on the intermediate member 30. A pushing and moving body 29 is furnished to push and move the intermediate member 30 in a direction to tighten the taper engagement.
