GEL SCROLLER ASSEMBLY FOR A LUMINAIRE

A cassette (42) containing a gel seroll (100) is releasably attached to the forward portion (26) of a housing (24) of a luminaire (20). A light path (58) through the cassette (42) is aligned with a light exit opening (28) of the luminaire (20). A gel scroll (100) is wound upon a pair of drums (82) in the cassette (42) and intersects the light path (58). The drive motor (144) for the cassette (42) is contained in the housing (24) of the luminaire (20). A drive system for the drums(82) includes a driven member (90) in the cassette (42) that engages a drive member (154) of the luminaire (20) driven by the motor (144) when the cassette (42) is mounted on the luminaire (20). A fan (164) in the luminaire (20) moves cooling air through the cassette (42) when the cassette (42) is mounted on the luminaire (20).
