PURPOSE: A digital video recorder for monitoring remote sites is provided to transmit monitoring images photographed by plural cameras from remote sites to a central station, and to monitor, to store and to manage centralized images in the central station. CONSTITUTION: Plural remote monitoring control devices(400,400-1,400-2) are mounted to security monitoring areas, receives and compresses digitally plural images transmitted from plural cameras for photographing the security monitoring areas, transmits an upstream data frame including the digital compressed image to a central station image monitoring/storing device(500) through a transmitting medium. The central station image monitoring/storing device(500) receives the upstream frame from the remote monitoring control devices, displays the frame on a screen, stores the frame to a storage medium, and transmits management signals for managing plural cameras to the plural remote monitoring control devices.
