PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a bypass function of a display controller without causing any malfunction using fewer signal lines. SOLUTION: In a display controller 1, the mode can be switched into a bypass mode by outputting, using one chip select signal line provided to a host 10, a signal for selecting whether or not bypassing is to be carried out to a display controller 20. After this, by using the same chip select signal, the chip select signal to be outputted to a driver 30 is transmitted by the bypass. Thus, the bypass function of the display controller 20 can be realized by using one chip select signal line. Also, when the access by the bypass is completed, the display controller 20 automatically returns to a normal mode. Thus, the malfunction at the time of switching the bypass mode can be prevented.
