PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device capable of achieving consistent steering control even when steering torque is inverted, and the steering torque is not immediately inverted by an inertia force, or when turn control and return control are frequently switched in the vicinity of zero steering torque. SOLUTION: The power steering device comprises a steering speed detection means to detect a steering speed, and a return steering determination means to determine return steering to return to a steering neutral position by the output direction of the steering torque detected by a torque detection means and the output direction of the steering speed detected by the steering speed detection means. The return control determination means maintains the determination of a previous steering status if the output direction of the steering torque detected by the torque detection means in a present control period and the output direction of the steering speed detected by the steering speed detection means are different from each other, and if the output direction of the steering speed in the present control period is matched with that in a previous control period.
