PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil applying method and a device of lubricating oil for press forming which can adjust an amount of the lubricating oil to be applied required for a plate material to be press-formed and which can apply the oil with excellent accuracy. SOLUTION: A pair of press rolls 21, 22 are installed above and below a traveling path 11 of the plate material for the press forming. Drawing rolls 31, 32 are installed rearward in the rotation direction of each press roll. And at the same time, the drawing rolls 31, 32 are pressed to the press rolls via a drawing roll pressure adjusting device for adjusting the pressing force to the press rolls 21, 22. The amount of the lubricating oil to be applied on each surface of the plate material for the press forming is adjusted with the pressing force of the drawing rolls 31, 32 to the press rolls 21, 22. The oil applying method and the device, by which the sufficient lubricating oil required for forming can be highly accurately, and moreover, stably applied, are provided.
